Ok, I was entertaining my gramma and a friend, and we got on this discussion...
Is LOTR evil?
NO! It's actually based on a Christian book and it's in like every Christian church, magazine, yatayata!
Anyway, what do you think?

LOTR is based on a Christian book? I DIDN'T KNO THAT! Umm which one? I'm not Christian but Maybe I've heard of it! My friend her name is Kim, used to LOVE HP but then her mom and dad didn't want her any more and now she is living with her aunt. Her aunt is a BIG RELIGION FREAK, and won't let Kim watch or read HP or LOTR! IT SUX!!! Anyway, there's nothing wrong with magic... its not real, only somewhere in our hearts o' course, it has nothing to do with Satin.

yeah all of them are. he was a christian writer. it's all complicated, but the movies aren't christian. i don't even know if the actors are christian....

Why should it matter if the actors are christian or not? America is a primarily christian nation, but there are also tons of others religions here too, like Wicca, Islam, Bhuddism, Shinto, Anthiest.
I'm not big on religion myself (Sorry Legolas, don't hate me) and I don't really think that it matters if the movies or the books are based on christianity.
I can see people having a problem with Harry Potter because it talks so much about magick, but LOTR? Oi. Some people.
Also, Legolas, are all bands christian bands if they believe in G'd but don't actually write songs about him?

that had nothing to do with it...the actor part. i was just simply stating a fact. i don't care if the actors are christian or not...that's their decision, not mine!
And no, if they believe in God but don't write songs about him, they are not Christian.

Yeah, J.R.R. Tolkien was christian, as was C.S. Lewis. So Lord of the Rings isn't evil...but I'm not Christian anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me. *wanders off*

wait andrew, so she is or she isnt, which one, i really dont care, i am a christain but i dont think of people different either way, i just want the facts straight and not all jumbled, but forget it, whatever, i dont think lord of the rings is bad
